Incoming London IB AN1 - What to expect for the first month?
Incoming Analyst 1 joining a coverage group in London. I didn't do a summer internship in IB before this so I'm unsure what to expect for e.g. the first week and first month when I join. I.e. what's the typical time spent on training before you join your team? What kind of training are newcomers put through? I've been backpacking around Asia for the last month and have lowkey not been using my finance brain during this stretch.
I've heard some of my older friends at e.g. Citi got flown down to NYC a couple years ago for global training at the HQ but I don't believe my bank does this.
Also thinking of reaching out to existing analysts/associates in my group to begin networking ahead of my start date
What sort of bank are you at that you haven’t already been communicated to.
