Hi All,
For IB industry groups I have never understood what their role is in financings? I understand they do the majority of the work for M&A but for debt and equity fundraising’s what are they doing? Isn’t that mostly DCM/Lev Fin/ECM?

Depends on the bank. For an LBO financing let's say, at some places the LevFin/Sponsor team will hold the primary pen on models/deal memo while the industry team chips in as needed on the materials. At other places the coverage team will do the heavy lifting.
