Information pack for new analysts!

Hi, so I am trying to win extra brownie points by writing an information pack for new analysts joining my team. I have the basics covered like setting up (admin), business writing and so on, but I need some inspiration.

Is there anything you wish you knew that would have made your transition easier when you started as an analyst? I totally get that you are meant to go through the bumpy roads, it makes you stronger, but I am looking at this from an efficiency perspective. No one wants to be the needy analyst.

One thing my firm is big on is making sure that formatting is correct in documents. Meaning fonts, text size, and other things like this are all consistent with guidelines. At first it seemed like such a hassle but now it's second nature and I can instantly pick out when someone didn't follow guidelines and it just looks half-assed.

 

See if you can get your hands on a training book from a bank. I have one from Lehman that I got from some internal chain email. Other than that, do some search on WSO. There are plenty of threads on here already:
