Intern Return Offer Qualities
In the past, have any of you been a part of a team where a "awkward" intern was given a return offer? And what percentage of return offers come from being sociable as opposed to being able to do the work / work diligently?
It depends, could you provide more details about what you mean by "awkward" or "not sociable"? What did the intern do for instance?
.
I guess what I mean by "awkward" is someone who doesn't really vibe well with the group. Someone who can say normal greetings and talk about work and what not, but you don't really get close to them aside from talking about work-related issues and what not.
Have you considered that you might not have a lot of things in common with the intern? Like you don't have the same hobbies or something ? Sometimes the intern might be reluctant to share anything if he/she thinks you yourself is a bit distant?
I personally think attitude carries you so far. Having a smile on your face and taking pride in your work will likely get you a return offer.
What if one of the analysts hates you, alum from my school and he hated me as a freshman
Banks give internships with the intent to hire- meaning you have to give them a reason to write you off. Yes, that includes being stand offish- despite your work because honestly they can train anyone to do the work over time. But if the guy is a Debbie downer and always silent it’s going to be a drab working with you, hence the ding.
You don’t have be a Prince Charming Chad but if you’re the happiest sitting alone at your cubicle just doing your assignments and going about your business, you probably won’t fit in anywhere in banking.
