Interns/analysts - How much downtime do you have?

Im at a boutique with a ton of dealflow. There just seems to be a bunch of bottlenecks that leave me sitting around a lot of the day. Is this normal? To be honest, I expected to be working nonstop til 1am every day for 9 weeks.... I am on like 4 deals too lol

What are others in the industry's experience like?

Not to be rude but in a large part you are the quasi bottleneck. There is tons of work likely being done by your analyst & associate but there are many points where it is more work to allocate work to you vs. just doing it themselves.

You will find as you build up your reputation in terms of being able to get stuff done your workload will increase and you will hold the pen on more and more of the analysis with less idle time (although you can control your own life more and build in downtime for yourself).
