I changed the name of my internship title to better describe the role I was in, when banks are doing background checks will they care? The bullet points under the title are all accurate and so are the dates but the formal name of the internship is not what I have on the resume. Will i get dinged?

It depends on how much you change it. Of course if you write Investment Banking Summer Analyst rather than IBD Summer Intern nobody is going to care. But if you make up a position that you didn't have, then you might have problems. But since you mentioned that the bullet points are accurate you'll be fine.
