Introduced to someone else on the team but then rejected?

I applied for a lateral opening and was able to connect with a VP on the team for an informal chat last week. I thought the conversation went well and asked if she could refer me to anyone else on the team to have a quick chat. She connected me with a senior associate and we set up some time later this week to speak. However, I just received one of those automated workday rejection emails. I am not sure what to make of this because I still have the chat with the senior associate scheduled and the VP seemed eager to connect me with her.

Anyone experience something like this?
