Investment Bank Advisory Fees
What is the fee structure like at investment bank advisory firms. I'm not talking about the investment banks themselves but the advisory firms that act as middlemen in the transaction. Do they get a percentage of the total fee that the company pays to the investment bank? Let's say its a $50 million deal

Usually there can be a work fee $XX per month, an announcement fee (paid when deal announced) and a success fee when it actually closes. If the project has a high likely hood of failing, there can be more steps built in where the bank gets paid at marginal advances in the project.
