Investment Banking Christmas Cards

Just a random thought as we are moving into the Christmas season....I like getting Christmas cards from my bankers.

I know that it's dorky and I know that almost no one does it anymore. But, when you get a nice handwritten card from one or two banks, it's a really nice touch, even something simple as "It's been a great year working together and looking forward to another, signed John Smith".

Just passing the info on to those still on the banking side.

Side note: Nothing worse than an e-card....wtf....an electronic note sent by AI....great....better to send nothing at all

Handwritten Christmas cards are indeed a standout gesture, especially in the finance world where personal touches are rare. Based on the most helpful WSO content, sending physical cards can significantly differentiate you from others. A simple, genuine message like "It's been a pleasure working together this year, looking forward to more success in the next" can leave a lasting impression.

Avoid e-cards—they often feel impersonal and can backfire. Instead, invest in quality stationery and take the time to write a thoughtful note. This small effort can strengthen relationships and keep you memorable in a competitive industry.

I'd rather not get anything, but one year a team of about 50 people sent a tin of specialty fresh peanuts to all the executives on the team and I was the Financial Manager which was on the executive team and have to admit the peanuts were pretty good.

Had a similar experience.....remember getting chocolates from a company.  Still remember the name of that company. It's not going to win them the next deal but it certainly doesn't hurt to be top of mind either.
