Investment Banking during recession?

With recent bank earnings reports showing a pretty grim outlook on the IB front, is anyone else concerned about return offer rates for this summer? Considering that recessions typically last ~2 years, will next summer's SA's be hit even harder?

Also, for anyone who is old enough to have experienced previous recessions, do y'all have any advice for incoming analysts and SAs on what to expect going forward?
