Investment banking in London. Looking for information.

I am currently a high schooler in the U.S. I’m interested in investment banking and would like to live in the U.K. So I would just like to learn more about investment banking in London vs the U.S. My plan would be to attend a school in the U.K. then just stay in the U.K. and start investment banking. Here are my main questions:

  • What are the main differences between London vs U.S. investment banking?
  • What is the pay differential?
  • How do the hours compare?
  • Whats it like to live in London?
  • What are the main EB banks?
  • What schools would you recommend? (Im aware of the main ones but just interested to see how you view them)

Thanks!

You can research/google why (that is what you should do) or trust me on this (what you should not do), but either way I have no desire to expand further hence the laconic reply in the first place

Google all these questions with WSO at the end and you'll find the answer to all of them. Briefly.

Large.

Same.

Subtle cultural differences.

Google. Most of the same as US.

I honestly see no good rationale to live in London besides having family here or something.

Go study in the UK, I'll follow up and remind you every day until you apply

But then don't get angry at me if you don't get any replies

Piggybacking off OP, how does my profile look going into 2025SA in london

1. East Asian (Singapore)

2. MSc Corporate Finance Bayes Business School, Sept 24-25, Undergrad in finance in Singapore (NTU)

3. Currently working as a Sellside Advisor at a small boutique (will have 1.5 years exp during apps period)

How is bayes as a semi target, is there anything thing else i should take note off and improve? Thank you to anyone who gives me advice.

Uncertain....

Looks like it is going to be though. Leverage NTU brand in Singapore (v. strong) and find work there would be my recommendation. Overall much better comp as well.
