Irish graduate moving to New York City

How are things WSO, haven't had anything to contribute to this forum being a young Dubliner but thought I'd use it to hopefully get some good advice. In short, I'm considering moving to NYC on a 1-year graduate visa in late Aug/early Sep 2020.

A bit about me: I have a BA Economics and MSc Applied Economics from 1 of the 2 top universities in Ireland. Completed a rotational internship programme (IB/S&T/AM) in one of the big Irish Stockbroking firms. Moved to London for 3 months and worked as an analyst in a startup Asset Management firm and am currently working in Big 4 Deal Advisory on a transaction with one of the largest banks in Ireland.

As some of the New Yorkers on this forum probably know, the Irish love New York... so much so that we flock there in the thousands straight after college expecting well-paid office jobs but end up working bar jobs and living up to the Irish stereotype as functioning alcoholics. While I meet this stereotype on many fronts, I am very career driven and would hate to move over and find that I couldn't find a solid job that will give me some good international experience early in my career.

Like many, I'd love to be in IB/CF and eventually move to PE but landing a year-long IB gig in NYC would be hard to come by. I was wondering what WSO members would suggest as good jobs to go after that will facilitate a 1-year graduate visa and help build a CV as well?

All responses much appreciated!
