Is 1 year good enough to get a decent role in another field?
I am new analyst at a BB in capital markets group (ECM/DCM), and although its only been a few months, I am not enjoying the work. Its not really the work, its just the overall culture. I want to jump ship. I plan to leave after a year.
I am not looking for another IB, PE, or anything high finance related. Honestly would just like to be an analyst at a real estate development shop, maybe a corporate finance role at a decent company, something like that.
If that's the goal, would 1 year of IB set me up? I don't want to jump ship too early, but honestly I'll start looking after 6 months.
