Is a 3.5 GPA a dealbreaker for IB and PE?

I go to a target (HYP), did growth equity at a small shop sophomore summer, and screwed up recruitment this year for junior summer- I have a 3.5 GPA and am most likely going to recruit for big tech this coming summer/take time off and get my life together- is full time BB IBD or PE not possible for me?

Was in an identical situation. Just did it, but not easy... Definitely try to get something impressive for this summer that also fits your narrative (frame all your experiences so they fit together sensibly). Start networking hard now. Frankly, going to need someone that will go to bat hard for you. So many people that are more qualified on paper, so you will also need to impress in interviews. Doable, though - good luck!
