Is corporate development internship valuable if I will not get to work on any transaction?

@Acquisitions01", corp dev is a pretty sweet role if you enjoy the M&A process, want reasonable hours, and are happy earning low six figures. So, you might leave this internship not wanting anything to do with IB.
I do not know anything about RE or careers in it. Is this firm providing IB services for RE firms, or is this more so a company acquiring and managing a portfolio of RE investments? If it's the former, I'd chose that over the corp dev internship and then try lateraling to an IB after a year, but if it's the latter, this is one of the few scenarios where I would accept an internship offer over a FT one. Is there a chance for a return offer from the corp dev internship? If you answer my two questions, I can go into more detail then.
