I don't think it's a big deal but I keep clean shaven just because the higher ups might be weirdos about it.

it's a small thing to do just to make sure you are on the good side of senior. I do get less chicks now thought

Our team has a good number of people at all levels rocking facial hair too, it’s not an issue.

It's fine as long as you can actually grow a beard and don't look like a 13 year old who hasn't noticed he should start shaving, and on the other extreme keep it well groomed and don't go for a mountain man situation.

Regular beard is fine, wouldn't rock a goatee though and definitely wouldn't rock a chin strap, soul patch, or anything else that makes you look like you stepped out of a 90s/00s butt rock video

Also wouldn't do a mustache unless you're of Arab descent, they can pull it off for some reason, the rest of us can't.

It's totally fine to rock a beard, but I think there are a few (fair) rules. Make sure that it's actually a beard and not that shitty in-between where you just haven't shaved for a few days so you don't look like you're coming off a bender. Keep it nice and cleaned up / manicured as well so it looks professional. Basically, make sure it look intentional and well-groomed.

As someone else mentioned, don't do any of the random other facial hair looks. No goatee or power stache or something like that.
