Hard to answer because there's lots of variability in "no name boutiques" a firm with 50-100+ employees that finds itself pitching against the likes of TD Cowen or Raymond James is absolutely a good place to start and can have good lateral opps especially in a better market. Hell people have made it to good shops from 5 man boutiques. You may even find yourself enjoying the lifestyle if you're making similar to your larger bank peers for a little less money. As to whether or not a boutique offer is worth taking over a chiller role at a more reputable company I'd recommend thinking over your own goals as well as checking Linkedin to see where people from whatever role or firm you're looking at have gone after.

Would you say it's a good place to exit from? I'm not interested in recruiting for laterals in the event that I work for this random broker dealer thing. I am interested in IR as a career and one of my other options is IR at a decent HF in another country. Would like to be in NYC where the IB role is and not in a diff country so idk how to weigh this... I'm also not super integrated in the finance space so idk the perception of either option.
