When I was young, I asked my brother who worked at CS at the time about why Patrick Bateman seemed to work so little in the movie. He replied, without skipping a beat, 'that's the most unrealistic part of the movie'.
It’s interesting they kept mentioning accounts like “the fisher account”. I know the business cards say M&A but sounds more like WM to me. All he seemed to do was meet people for lunch which could check out for WM but not really a VP in banking.

The most unrealistic thing gotta be the own office. I worked together with tons of bankers on sell and buy side mandates and (at least in the video call) the majority of them always sits on some open space with headset + people walking by them in the background. Even the directors.
