Is it easier to get an IB internship sophomore or junior year?

For the moment, my GPA at a target school is 3.6, but I really think I could improve it to 3.7 next year (and also join more clubs / take more finance classes). Should I apply to the sophomore internships? Or should I wait to junior year?

Both. You need something for sophomore year (hard to get IB, but smaller firms may take you) and junior year should be your bigger internship. Sophomore BB spots are nearly impossible to get, but apply anyway as prep for next year.

A lot of shenanigans take place in the selection process. Even the perfect candidate is not guaranteed a spot at a BB.

You need to get networking and lose any sense of entitlement. These companies owe nothing to the applicant, and will pounce on any reason you give them to throw you out.
