Is it fine to be a mid intern in banking
Current SA at a MM. Had our first performance review today and the feedback I got from my line manager is “Nothing stood out specifically, which is a good thing because it means no red flags. Generally positive, you ask good questions and act professional.”
That seems kinda mid to me. Not to read too much into it but I’m genuinely curious about how to improve cuz we all wanna be the one who impress at the end of the day.
Any advice?
That's a good review, stop over reading.
It literally means that they have nothing to complain about, which is rare in banking. You're in line for the return, just head down for the next six or so weeks.
Depends on the bank. Some places internships are yours to lose, some they want only who is "good". Tbh it sounds like you're good and it's early days right. You could go back to them ask what you can do to stand out.
Be mid but also likeable and have good rapport with the right people in the team. That’s what gets you good reviews without having to grind for top bucket. Never too early to learn the game lol.
