Is it nuts to lateral right now?
What do you all think? There are pros and cons but one in the favor of moving is that banks recruiting right now see a critical need / structural and your seat should be safer. What do you all think for senior associates and junior VPs?
Thanks.
Seems crazy to me. Even if you're able to get an offer right now, it seems way more likely that something falls through prior to your start date. Operationally, when do you actually give notice to your employer? Even if you're giving the minimum 2 weeks notice, that's still 2 weeks where you're exposed to your future employer pulling your offer or delaying your start date. Not saying it's more likely than not, but it seems like a non-negligible risk at this point.
