So I have a 3.1 GPA and since 2024 apps will be opening soon I am terrified. I am taking classes in the summer and it will boost my GPA to a 3.5. But would it be possible to land an intern position with a BB bank? I am a diverse candidate (Female, Hispanic, Low income...) I did have an internship my freshman year with a small company and then I also completed a diversity thing with Goldman and this year crossing my fingers to get into a Morgan Stanley diverse program.

For my bank during my SA, we only took ~5 POC out of like 100 total interns-ish. Half of the SA class was women. The issue is even with diversity recruiting there are so. Many. People. Gunning for the few spots the pipelines are honestly still very competitive. However I have a good friend with a similar background that got into a MM firm because she was super charismatic. (Her GPA was around a 3.5). It’s doable.
My biggest advice for you is network and use the resources given to you, use SEO and Jopwell, and look for internships during the semester. (Needless to say, start working your ass off, join clubs, etc if you haven’t already, network with other Latinos / Women, people with similar backgrounds might be more willing to help)
Don’t give up, just keep moving forward. And if you don’t get into banking it isn’t the end of the world. Be ambitious and keep pushing yourself to high expectations
