Is It True That Cap Markets Is More Competitive than M&A in Asia?
Someone told me that ECM/DCM groups are extremely competitive in Asia, and at some places, even more so than M&A becuase IPOs and whatnot are all the rage there and the main source of cash compared to M&A. Is that true, or is it complete garbage? I'd imagine that M&A, especially if its significantly smaller, will also take on less people, which would make it just as hard to get into, but are the quality of applicants in ECM/DCM > M&A in Asia?
