Considering I haven't gotten one, I don't know if I agree with that statement

Feels like OP didn't either and hence is throwing shade.

Or he's in M&A at JPM. Which is highly unlikely as most juniors shill their groups and banks on here.

Sponsors M&A (London)

Currently incoming An1 in JPM product group so can verify. We doubled analyst class sizes across core product groups given next 18 month crunch period and also new 80 hour workweek limit. Most coverage teams also hired some FT as well to compensate their fair share

To ask the obvious question, how do you recommend positioning yourself as a recent grad working in LMM if you want to get into the hiring groups tried cold applying haven't had luck?

Cold applying never works bro. Instead of cold applying, send cold emails

You gotta network. And don’t give me JPM doesn’t do networking crap. Literally talked to a JPM MD in London last week (both JPM and London “don’t do networking”). And even he said, keep doing what you’re doing, keep networking and whenever we’re hiring, reach out again.

Oh yeah I've been doing that, sending out a lot of shit ton of emails and tracking their read rates. Most of them are being read multiple times, but I'm getting zero responses and worried they might get flagged if I email too many people lol not sure what the best approach is

Do you think anyone who accepted to a networking call would tell you networking is fruitless? A senior banker no less? I work at an EB in London and HR runs 100% of the process. Even MDs have 0 say. I personally cold applied as well when I was going through the process when no one answered my networking email. Outside of fringe cases networking in London is not a thing.
