Is LevFin client-facing?

  1. Is LevFin client-facing?

  2. What aspects of the technicals should I focus on when interviewing for LevFin (internship) positions?

  3. What are some important qualities a LevFin banker should have?

Thank you for your input in advance!

  1. You'll be able to smell what they had for lunch as they scream at you through the phone for shitty terms and puny hold
  2. Read LCD's primer on leveraged loans (https://www.lcdcomps.com/d/pdf/LCD%20Loan%20Primer.pdf). I think they did one on High Yield but I can't find it. Read Rosebaum & Pearl's book, there's specific chapter on LBO models.
  3. Ability to pushback on credit to get a shitty deal done

I believe origination is client facing as the CM group generally acts as bridge between the origination and the s&t teams. Idk if there's a difference between the CM and the  syndicate group or if they're one in the same so if someone wants to clarify for me that'd be helpful.
