Is product management the promised land?

Saw a post on the consulting forum about product management vs consulting. Seems like PM is all the rage right now. Decent hours (50-60) with potential to make 7 figures (L7 or L8 levels), while living the tech lifestyle. Did any of you consider doing something like the google apm or Facebook rpm programs? Why did you decide against PM/pick banking instead?

I chose not to pursue pm because I wanted to work in finance and learn how to be an investor. Sounds obvious but the two are totally different fields/skill sets.

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.
