Is RBC A Bulge Bracket Now?

With CS gone, RBC seems to have taken the defacto spot as the 9th Bulge Bracket (arguably beating out UBS/DB in exit opps at least until UBS sorts itself out with its CS acquisition). It's larger than DB in assets and the 10th largest bank in the world by market capitalization (only beat by JPM, BofA and MS among the BBs).

It's also #9 in the league tables (global m&a) for 2024, beating out UBS and DB

Your last post said league tables don't matter. Congrats on a Canadian bank offer though!

Agreed. That clown keeps making shitposts left and right, and is clueless af

RBC counts as a bulge bracket if you look at the league tables for having the most cheesemonger employees. Worked with a few of the guys over there on some mandates back in the day when I was on the sell side. Every time I would visit the bullpen there would be an odd stench slivering about the room. Couldn't quite narrow down what exactly the source of the smell was, although I assume it was a mix of body odor and indian food.

Second this. Worked there during my analyst years before lateraling. Absolute clown show. Senior bankers used to reward us with Cheez Whiz and Ritz Crackers when we were performing well. Although I did get used to the smell after a few weeks on the desk.

Look at last year's global M&A rankings prospects... here's a hint RBC was lower than UBS. America isn't the only region that exists and a lot of clients are waiting until rate cuts to do deals.
