Is "standard" recruiting effectively dead for non-diversity?
Looking at the 2026 SA class stats... it feels like 75% of the seats were filled via diversity pipelines or accelerated programs before the general link even went live. I’m not trying to be toxic, just trying to understand the math. For a standard non-diversity candidate from a semi-target, are we fighting for 10% of the seats now? The timeline feels impossible.

No. On the contrary. Most banks eliminated DEI SA initiatives this cycle so much more of a meritocratic process imo. Just went thru recruiting for SA27 btw.

My group got rid of all DEI initiatives within recruiting this year, and we ended up like 30% white dudes. Idk what people expect but there's a datapoint for you.
DEI is less meaningful than it ever has been in the past 20 years. Banks are actively afraid that the Justice Department will go after them if they lean too heavily into it.
