Is there anything worse than having no work?

I’ve started my internship in a big 4 transactions team, and contrary to expectations it’s been really dry/boring. Nothing is really happening, seniors aren’t really giving any interns any task, and I end up sitting at the desk all day doing nothing.

I’ve tried to ask some other seniors if they need help with anything, or if I can help on X project, but haven’t really been put on anything. I haven’t been here long, and there are some other interns who say that it’s currently dry season and they aren’t being put on anything either. (They don’t really reach out to seniors either though).

If anyone has experienced anything similiar, what do you recommend I do? I’m not aiming for a return, but I want to gain as much experience as I can in the internship to prepare myself better for investment banking internships.
