Jefferies for Long-Term Career

Incoming AN1 at Jefferies in a solid group. I enjoyed the internship last summer and felt like my current group pretty strong, has good people, and is much more survivable than some of the other groups. It's early but I'm considering not recruiting for buyside and sticking it out. Anyone have thoughts or experience? Is pay / promotion good for long-term? Or should I try to lateral if I'm considering career banking

ive heard Ind. is a good place to be from someone who works there. not sure if u get paid tho

You should be able to lateral from these groups to a strong BB which is miles better for career banking. Path to MD at JEF is much harder given how much they like to poach MDs rather than homegrown. See the thread about EB VP considering moving to BB to be able to continue career advancement. Jeff is worse considering they underpay compared to the EBs and have the clawback structure starting as asso.

I’m surprised to hear you found these groups better than the rest though, mind sharing what your/first year analyst hours loooked like?
