Jefferies HK SPD

I am going have my SPD on Wed, but I only got limited infor about their team in HK. Is there anyone could answer my questions below about Jef at HK? (sry, some of them may seem silly.

  1. what is the return rate ave. for their hk team

  2. Is it still global pay?

  3. how many SA they hire on average?

They have a smaller team compared to its presence in the US but do have solid dealflow in sectors like HC, pay should be on par with BBs in HK. Best guess is they have mid single digit SAs given their team size and can't speak on return offer rate. Hope this helps and good luck.

RetireExcel:

HK pay is generally $20 to $25k higher than US since they pay for housing while keeping cash comp the same.

No one other than HSBC still pays for housing now, even for MDs. Some group heads might have their own separate arrangements / perks, but housing allowances are long gone.

Most Helpful

It has long been embedded in the base salary instead of separating into housing.

For example, before CS goes bust, they arranged everyone to sign a new contract with housing removed but based bumped by equivalent amount, this is basically a benefit with severance and pension calculated on a high base amount

Among the larger banks, A1 base ranges from lowest of HSBC at ~9k USD to some offering close to ~11.5k USD

HSBC is the very few that split them into base + allowance, which actually makes its total pay lower because pension contribution is based on a lower figure
