Jefferies Restructuring Reputation 2020

Does anyone have any information on JEF RX? Seems like they have worked on some pretty high profile deals especially in O&G on their website. Anyone know anything about exits, culture, and overall reputation compared to other traditional RX players like HL? Recently became interested in RX and will be at JEF this summer. Internship is generalist so wondering if I should network into some deals in that group this summer or look at FT recruiting. Thanks!

JEF RX used to have a great group but the two co-heads left to join Moelis, since then they haven't done much. Now nowhere near players like HL / PJT / LAZ / MC.

Their mandates on the higher profile deals are all with UCCs (trade creditor committees) - a much less involved role - and they are broadly not very active in the restructuring scene any more. Jefferies is a great shop but if you are focused on RX, would recommend looking into full time opportunities with the traditional players.
