my group took a a huge SA class but there were a lot of interns so maybe it was bad overall. couldn't tell

Houston had a large class (~25 including traditional and energy transition, analysts and associates) and only one no-offer.
Bruh the one who did not get is absolutely incompetent and doesn’t like energy at all
Houston is a (shockingly) small finance community and I would advise you don't torch people like this. Wish the person the best and move on. 95%+ is an extremely high offer rate, in any case.
Certified jef offer getter here - there was some crazy stuff happening in the nyc office . On the intern floor they specifically booked the no’s and yes’ at a specific time. There was genuinely a row of no’s one after the other and people were crying and throwing papers around the office and someone was even punching their vape at their desk with their head in their hands.
Absolutely terrible year for interns
Let’s be honest. It is maximum 5 people acting like that and at least 70% got return offers
was it actually a lot of people who didn't get returns or just felt like that because it was in person
it was mostly the generalists that had a bad year but yeah everyone in my group got in 🫰
Was told multiple times throughout the summer that every intern they hire has a spot for FT if they fit the culture/are competent enough. Honestly can attest that this is true (at least in my group)—not many ROs given but mainly because people were very weird and sabotaging others…

i guess…most people around me did get offers though. Was more jarring to see on the floor I guess since decisions were in person this year
