JPM Internal IB Mobility 1st Year Analyst
I have just started my first year analyst program at JPM in the investment bank. It is, however, in a capital markets group (ECM/DCM) which I don't have any desire nor interest to be in. Given the economic climate / jobs availability, I signed the offer. I wanted to get any advice that anyone might have on this site as to how i can internally transfer to an M&A or coverage group within a year to 18 months. I know JPM has a third year analyst rotation program that lets IB analysts move to another group in their third year, but that is frankly too long of a wait. How would you all recommend I try to navigate internal networking / bringing up mobility talks, especially in light of COVID WFH and job scarcity.
Any advice / help would be quite helpful, thanks!
Wouldn't be in such a rush to transfer out of JPM Cap Markets... look at their earnings today: trading and capital markets killed it. And I'm sure M&A? Not so much...
bro "prospect", the op doesn't care for your advice on whether they should or shouldnt. clearly they want to. they're looking more for how to do it lmao
bump - curious on this as well, how are the internal mobility programs between Capital Markets and coverage/M&A?
