Just signed my FT offer, should I start reaching out to previous firm alumni to talk about PE Recruiting?

Like I said I just signed my offer with my firm for FT. I want to dip to PE after 2 years and I want to learn about how they left the same firm (boutique) for PE. I'm studying technicals concurrently as well, but I want to know if they can share any advice on how to dip out while being a good analyst in the mean time. Is it too early?
