KBW versus Stifel?

What are thoughts on KBW versus Stifel? Yes, I know they are technically the same company but KBW is, for the most part, run independently. From my understanding, KBW is regarded better than Stifel, but for someone that doesn’t necessarily want to be pigeonholed by FIG, what would set someone up better for lateral / exit opportunities?

KBW is a great group for FIG. If you’re interested in the sector, it is a solid place to start.

KBW seems like it had a good reputation but broadly speaking the Stifel brand name is more well known (I’ve never seen KBW mentioned as someone not in FIG), and it’s fucking FIG so that’s what you should make your choice on. If you want to do FIG. Which can be cool if you’re in fintech or something. But I feel like from my group placement networking FIG seemed uninteresting/more likely to pidgeonhole an analyst than other groups.
