Knowledge

Okay guys this is my first registered post so Hello. I have been reading the forum recently and have been inquiring where many of you get your knowledge. In that I am not one to take advice off of internet forums ultra seriously, do to conflicting opinions and credentials or lack there of... I was wondering what books any of you have used to prepare yourself for interviews, modelling, etc.

I am an accounting major so I am fairly knowedgable about that much, and I have been doing my best to get through the Damodaran 2nd edition on financial modelling. But other than these basics, what can I be doing to really gain knowledge of the industry to get an analyst position? I am in my second yr of university right now, and other than GPA, etc. I want to start really preparing myself for these interviews. I have searched the forums and have found lots of reccomended readings like mokey business etc. but these are basically for entertainment purposes. I know this post is a rant,so my apologies. Also, I can take a joke so flame away if its clever...but any serious advice on books, programs, or other resources would be greatly appreciated (especially the free or inexpensive kind).

Thanks
