LA recruiting from the East Coast

My dream/ideal life has always involved living and working in LA indefinitely after uni, I'm a hs senior right now and with decisions coming out I've been accepted to NYU Stern (where I'm gonna end up going) but rejected from USC Marshall and it's crushed me + the dream I had of going to school there and recruiting for LA then just living and working there indefinitely.

I'm told it's probably going to be a bad idea for me to transfer to USC second year so I've kinda accepted that I'll be going to NYC, does anyone know how feasible it is to recruit for LA (IB) out of undergrad in my situation? I'd really appreciate any input.

Stern is gonna put you in a good spot. The only thing maybe slightly against you is it seems like ppl recruiting for IB from here are growing each year. usc/ucla seem to be getting stronger in recruiting, esp in LA. Could just be an anecdotal experience from me tho.

Know a guy who got Moelis LA from an East Coast target this year. I really don't think you're at a dramatic disadvantage as long as your school is strong enough. Ultimately you just network like you would anywhere else
