Late Career “Switches”
I’m curious how often late career switches occur in the professional services and finance world. E.g. strategy consulting MD to PE or banking, or banking/PE moves by senior level people (either direction).
My general understanding is that outside of some specific situations (e.g. FSG to PE) this is not hugely common. But it ultimately seems like the skill set would be transferrable. Any anecdotes/direct experiences?
Why would you? Very senior in a career you're probably good at with a family, house, and other responsibilities. I guess an MD could get an advisory spot at a fund if they’re experts in a niche.
