Lateral Market

Current senior at non target with a MM boutique FT offer wondering what the lateral market looks like right now or even what that process looks like.

Definitely don’t want to stay with the firm I’m with now and looking to get to NYC. Has anyone had luck with the lateral market in recent years? Does anyone ever lateral up in terms of bank size, prestige, etc?

Would I bet better off doing a top MSF and re-recruiting?

Would love any advice
