Lateraling from BB to EB after SA

I accepted an offer from JPM / MS for SA 2021 and was placed into a group I dislike and know that internal mobility is only after 2 years.

I'm looking to lateral to an EB and am curious to hear how this is generally done? I'm afraid of networking early on as it might seem like I'm just a someone who jumps firms 8 months before even being there (which I am, but doesn't come across in the right way). I've also heard if your bank hears you're interviewing with other places FT your return offer is thrown in the trash.

Do most EBs recruit for FT during the SA stint or after? I've heard of a few people who received offers at EBs before even getting their return offers... Hoping someone can help a poor non-target

Will you be in IBD at JP/MS? If so its probably easiest to just kill your internship and lateral to a different group at your bank for FT. Although not sure how you know what group you’re joining considering placement day is always in the Spring.
