Laz Boston is great. Not very diverse however (everyone (literally everyone) is wealthy and white (2-3 women) and from MA it seems).
It is not advisable to take it over BOFA/CS/BARCAP, etc. it exits into its clients decently well, which are largely some big names in software buyouts, but exiting outside Boston would be very difficult and is not common. As with EBs but especially regional offices the MD is the office and I heard that there’s only one MD left (Matt or something) really and he may not be there in a few years as he is getting up there in age.
I’ve heard they’re relying on sf tech for cross office dealflow which is a perk but also a reminder that the office isn’t up to par with the SF in every objective category (excl culture).
Overall, great for Boston, tech, PE exits. If your criteria is not in those three buckets, I’d advise lateraling or looking elsewhere if possible.

CS and Gugg NY are preferable by a long shot. I've heard LZ Boston has pretty terrible hours and culture — and for less prestige because of the location (if we are evaluating it relative to NY). If you're looking for tech, NY and SF are better bets. Don't know too much about PJ Solomon but Liontree is well-respected and many prefer it over some mid-tier BBs.
Gugg NY or CS NY by far. NYC offices generally have better exits, Gugg NY is a great shop especially in TMT as well. Very strong deal flow and great internship experience overall
I would take a New York location preferably. There is large value to being in a major office like New York City as opposed to a regional office like Boston especially in terms of exits. It just makes your life easier.
Guggenheim is some top quality stuff and they have an excellent teams across the board. I would definitely take NY Gugg over Lazard Boston. Personally I would take CS NY and Liontree as well. Don't know too much about the other two but friends at both have had great summers there.
This is the correct answer +1SB

Hard culture but exits are strong. I know a guy at coatue from there.
Pretty solid exits (Coatue, THL, MDP, FFL) but would take CS / Gugg NY over it. LionTree if you're really interested in the space. Lazard NY would be a completely different story.
For a tiny analyst class, those are pretty good exits.
No doubt. Should have mentioned in the initial post that the culture is really bad and naturally resources are much more limited given how small the office is. I think almost everyone would prefer to be in the firm's main office vs. a satellite location. Lazard name still carries weight.
Can you send me a pm or Vice versa
Sent you a PM.
Are they still recruiting for 2022?
Is the culture in this group still bad?
