lazard private funds group? - good training? exit opps?

I was curious to know about Lazard's private funds group....is this the equivalent to a sponsors group at a BB?

Are the hours & intensity equivalent as well? or do the projects have a more long term focus since they are raising funds which can take considerable amounts of time?

Will the skill set and training be still just as good?

You're essentially a secretary in this group. Scheduling calls, updating buyer's lists, etc.

What do you think M&A analysts do?

I work in M&A. How's the job search going?

these groups work with funds to draw up a fund raising plan.. create teasers, set up meetings with potential buyers (as oasis said), set up PPM and other stuff for the data room, may be some secondaries transaction advisory and handle pretty much the IR function of these funds. bottom line is there aren't any direct deals involved. exit opps would be other fund placement agencies, secondary funds, fund of funds.
