I know Lazard has an active MM practice, but I wasn't aware they divided it by industry segments such as TMT. Is Lazard's SF TMT group divided among its flagship and MM practices? Or is everyone in Lazard's TMT group essentially in the MM practice?

I believe the TMT practice is all based in NYC for LMM and split between San Fran and NYC for LFC (regular Lazard). There is some cross-collaboration and pitching, but they are silo'd. If you are in the SF LAZ office, you are working for the EB, not LMM.

Above comments are correct. LMM TMT is a new group being set up in SF under the LMM business – not connected with Lazard TMT. The open positions relate to the new LMM group
Any info onto the rep of senior folks leading the team? Good potential brand for VC/growth? I’d imagine it be an uphill battle competing against the regular Laz analysts, not to mention GS, Q, MS, etc

I know Lazard's group in SF does mostly consulting work for clients on retainer. I spoke to someone who interned there and he said that the analysts in general were all surprised when they started at how little transaction work they do. I don't think they place well for buyside opportunities, but I know that it's a great work life balance if you want to stay in IB.
