HSBC and Standard Chartered exits will be significantly worse than a JPM/BofA for buyside. Could definitely go from HSBC/StanChart to any banking levfin team though as it's the same skillset (just less dealflow and less % of lead left roles) and then recruit from there. Lots of threads on leveraged finance exits otherwise so will let you search.
no shit sherlock
Was poster not me who grouped them together, I agree it's rather obvious
Leveraged & Acquisition Finance i.e. LBO financing directly off the bank/s BS & LBO advisory.
Not LevFin originations or cap markets.
Have worked at 2 different CIBs so familiar with the roles of these Lev+Acq Finance groups. While some might just be lending (purely sub-MLA roles), most of the larger CIB banks will be LevFin originations and be trying to originate lead roles, albeit obviously with reduced success compared to a JPM/BofA. At JPM/BofA i'm unsure if they have a group called Lev+Acq Financing in their corporate bank that just does lending roles with no structuring input that you're referring to?
