LevFin preparation for virtual internship
Hi everyone,
I'll be joining JP LevFin group virtually this summer.
It looks like there won't be a lot of modelling, but I still want to be prepared for that, so I was wondering if you could suggest any good excel modelling course I could buy (or even a free one).
Currently, I'm reading about High yield bonds and leveraged loans (main products they deal with) and I'm planning on reading the LBO chapters of the Rosenbaum book.
Happy to hear any suggestions on how to best prepare.
Thank you.
strongly recommend reading Pragmatist Guide to leverage finance. That should prepare you for your job. That’s the Bible for Lev Fin. As you may know, JPs Lev Fin team by market share and by prestige is #1 on the street by a mile.
Be prepared to read credit agreements, covenant review, lcdnews etc.
“And by PrEsTiGe is NuMbEr 1 on the street by a MiLe. “ lmaooo what??
First of all who decided that? JPM sits on their balance sheet and extends everyone and their mother a revolver to pump up their stats. It’s a capital markets groups with no modeling so analysts don’t place well into PE.
CS and BAML LevFin are known for being some of the hardest groups to place into because they’re regular feeders into top exits and execute some of the most complex transactions in the world
