Levfin to M&A

Hi Folks,

Currently an A2 in the LevFin group at a BB, looking to switch to M&A / industry coverage group. Open to other BB’s and EB’s. What is your take on this transition? How hard is it going to be? Specially that the market is quite hot right now

Not really a difficult shift. Considering you are an analyst and at a good bank, you should be fine to nail lateral role interviews for those seats without much ado. While Levfin can be seen as pigeonholing you to credit, I've found this to rarely be the case for analyst lateral cases. Just make sure you craft your narrative well for why you want to switch from levfin to whatever else and you should be fine.
