Ah it’s the age old love story of a drunk college freshman DM’ing every single girl with a pulse on a Friday night at the fraternity house after a party. Think of this same scenario flip the script and make it ✨corporate✨. Ever since I signed on, I get recruiting messages from the private equity genie to join some obscure private equity or growth equity firm with promises of a better life (only 50 hours a week) and to make all my wishes come true (higher total comp). I’ve been on several intro calls and even some with company employees but it all just feels like a facade. Does anyone really know if these recruiting offers are legit or am I living in some Alice in wonderland dream of getting back to some semblance of work life balance.
