London IB (BB/EB/MM) perks and advantages

Hi folks,

As I don't really care about compensation, let's talk about perks and advantages :
- vouch for lunch/diner
- Uber
- Gym access
- Free food/cakes/fruits/coffee/bar available
- Goodies/Clothes (vests etc)

Would you mind sharing the advantages at your bank?

you know what would be nice? Having some fucking free drinks. I have to tap £1.10 every fucking time I want a diet coke

At a US MM in London

For clothing, some Banks have a stash cupboard with duffles and vests / sports jumpers etc. When i was an intern i thought it was cool rocking a gilet and duffle bag, now i realise no one cares. I hardly wear or use any bank branded items. Most US Banks in London actually have a dedicated portal or web store for you to order from the US, which is insanely overpriced and that's excluding shipping.

Free fruit every morning in the office, usually quite good but all the good items go after 9:15... incentive to come in early

Most meal allowances are £25-30. I promise you, the lure of deliveroo every night sounds amazing to your non-finance friends, once you get used to it you realise that 90% of it is slop and you are too bored or time-pressured to 'experiment' new places. Some banks have a dedicated company account meaning nothing is paid out of your pocket, so no expenses on SAP bureaucracy - same for Uber (usually post 8/9pm). If your company expenses your food / uber, i highly recommend getting an Amex Gold - you will rack up points for fun if you're spending c.£50 on deliveroo and uber each night.

Coffee machine is actually ok here, but a lot of (mainly seniors) will usually go out and order for a walk / internal team coffee chats etc.
