London IB Salary

Hi guys,

As there is a lot of data regarding salaries in the US, I was wondering what were the salaries like in London ?

I know that Citi and CS pay both £60k base for AN1 but have no clue about bonuses (any input welcome). Evercore pays around £80k base with signing bonus for AN1 also. What about other BB/EBs ?

Any data welcome.

Just for some background: this info is only true since the latest pay raises and not sure how sustainable % bonus really is. Don't forget that top bucket at GS for An1 and An2 fairly consistently was 70-80% until 2019, getting you to max £90k all-in (An1), with a drop to 60-70% in 2020 (£85k all-in, An1) (though much lower median across buckets) in 2020. 2021 might to some extent prove to be an outlier.

Always this kind of comment on London salaries not understanding purchasing power parity. Sure, it’s not exactly 1-to-1, but not nearly as bad as nominal exchange rates suggest. However, if you’d do the Big Mac calc, it is in fact 1-to-1 in purchasing power terms.

I did the calculations. After tax your taking a 30-50% cut from NYC take into account purchasing power of the pound is lower than the dollar with it expected to lose an extra 10-15% in value this year alone, that isn’t very good.

Unless something has changed very recently (i.e. last 2 months) EVR is not base £80k in London for AN1. It is £63k.
